Lab Discoveries was founded by a multidisciplinary group of Israeli and American scientists, medical professionals and experienced, medically-oriented business people. The scientific basis of the proprietary and innovative technology is based on work carried out by Dr. Galit Yahalom, Ph.D. the Company's R&D Manager, who has developed a blood test to be used as a cost-effective cancer specific diagnostic and confirmatory tool. The tset is based on the discovery that the human immune system responds to a tumor in measurable terms. The test can distinguish between an individual with a specific cancer, and a healthy individual and thus paves the way for further discoveries in the fight against cancer.
The first mission of the company is to develop a blood test for the diagnosis of breast cancer, as current tools have a very poor specificity, leading to a lot of false positive results.

After finishing the clinical trials that validate the breast cancer blood test, the company will immediately transfer the technology to several other cancers (such as colon, prostate, ovary and other cancer), all of which suffer from lack of good diagnostic tools with both high sensitivity and specificity.
The company is in it's final stages of getting ISO 13485, which will be granted prior to initial production.
